I can remember some parts better than others… it was okay… overrated… Well the authors are coming out with a sequel, and it’s making some very controversial statements again. Controversial, and probably outright wrong. Tiger Beatdown is one of the blogs looking at the author’s assertions about sex workers in particular. There was an episode of 20/20 or Dateline on about this book a week or so ago too so you might’ve caught that. what I wonder is why no-one has questioned whether “Allie” actually exists. The super smart super hot hooker with the heart of gold who does it cause she loves it and ALSO earns a pointy-headed degree in a pointy-headed subject? That is totes as scripted by James Frey. It’s convenient, actually, that they would be loathe to “out” her to the world; it also means they don’t have to produce her in response to queries.

You know what else I don’t understand about this lazy analysis based on a sample size of two: why are they comparing a high-priced courtesan to a sex worker on the street? I mean, if the question is why gold digging bitches are willing to enter into the lucrative role of trophy wife when so few are willing to learn the gentle art of one-sided conversation for profit, then shouldn’t they be comparing Allie’s financial incentives to one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey?

These men believe that for women sex is exclusively transactional – of course we are all prostitutes, it’s just a shame that some of us are squandering our resources by “giving it away.” To these economists, none of us are humans with real lives and feelings, we’re cogs with a set of holes, with the only variable being the amount of money required for access.
