A little late, but what about crossdressing if it's not your thing the rest of the time?

One year a Native friend of mine actually went as a White Guy, with makeup and a blond wig. I thought it was funny but he told me later some fratboys were pretty offended.

Wait, what about going as a fratboy?

I am curious as to your thoughts on dressing as specific historical or mythological figures from other cultures. Is it acceptable? Just as bad? Somewhere in between? I'm curious (and a huge mythology buff).

I won't be wearing a costume, but this is the first year I'll be in a situation where I'll be handing out candy. Do you have any tips or advice for dealing with this issue with the people who come to the door? I'm referring more to middle-school aged and older kids or parents; people who would understand (possibly) the implications when explained.

Do you know any links to printable pamphlets or materials that I would be able to hand out to these people along with the candy?
