Emily McAvan is an Australian living in Melbourne with her partner and step-daughter. A sometime academic, Emily also works as the editor of Global Comment, a progressive internationalist online magazine where she publishes many fine writers including Tiger Beatdown’s own Sady Doyle and s.e. smith. She also does a bit of freelance writing around the place for publications such as Billboard magazine, Bitch magazine, Alternet and Religion Dispatches. Her first book The Postmodern Sacred was published last year by McFarland.
