totally, agree! I even posted on my blog about it because I wanted to share it with everyone. It has cultivated so many positive reactions.
I think i wrote in the comments on that post that it made me physically sick. But, in a good, community-building way!
I think the negative responses are hi-larious in the way that they’re totally tone-deaf and clueless. Melissa is not un-loved. She is loved by our entire community (not to mention her husband who is *gasp* a man!)
I believe you’ve written recently that Shakesville is “unflinching” and wowser did that linked post ever fit that description. Reading it made me uncomfortable, and I know it’s because the truth is not always easy to read, but so damn necessary to understand. There is an encyclopedia of food-for-thought in the post that Melissa wrote.
I sincerely appreciate writers like Melissa McEwan, and yourself, Sady for speaking the truth so brilliantly. It’s comforting to know that even though I am no where near as eloquent as you awesome writers, there are folks out there who have these same thoughts and feelings. I feel like maybe I am not losing my mind after all.

I think “unflinching” is the best descriptor for Shakesville I’ve ever heard, and it makes me hugely proud to be a part of the site.
But my very second favourite spot for feminist stuff on the whole World Wide Intertoobz is right here. I am an unflinching Sady fan. 🙂
